Story treatment draft 1

The mum drives to the petrol station with her daughter in the back of the car. She asks her daughter, Emily, what she wants from the store and Emily says she wants chocolate. So the mum goes into the store and gets what she needs. When she’s going up to the till she looks through the glass mirror into her car to see Emily patiently waiting in there.

When the mum leaves the store she opens her car to discover that Emily is gone. She runs around the station and screams her name in distress and asks people if they have seen her daughter. She is nowhere to be found. Suddenly, the mum call from her ex husband and she tells him what happens, he calms her down by telling her he will call the police to his (as his house is very near) and that she should come so she can speak to them.

The mum drives to the dad’s house and then the police come, the mum walks to the door to let them in whilst the dad goes downstairs to the basement. However, there is a massive twist when the ‘’police’’ shoot her down and the father comes back with a smile on his face. He tells the fake police to clear up the evidence and he goes upstairs only for the audience to discover that Emily is sitting on the sofa peacefully, no idea that she had been abducted or that his mother had just been shot.
